Well I LOVE Aventura and I think they are by far the best artist out ther right now but here are some alternatives.

Merengue:
-Olga Tanon
-Elvis Crespo
-Karis (I dont know if they sing all merengue, but I have one of their songs and it is a merengue)

I listen to merengue but I am not too familiar with the artis' so thats about all I can give you for that genre
