Building A Computer (Gaming)?

Hey
I have just finished selecting components for a machine i intend to build in the near future. I would just like to run it through everyone and see if it will be a good machine.

COMPONENTS
CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2.83GHz)
VIDEO CARD - ASUS GeForce GTX280 - 1GB DDR3, 512-bit, 2x DVI, HDTV, HDCP - PCI-Ex16 v2.0
CASE - CoolerMaster Elite 330 Midi-Tower Case - 350W PSU
DVD-R - ASUS DRW-20B1LT DVD Burner - SATA
HARD DRIVE - Seagate 1000GB (1TB)
RAM - Corsair 4096MB (2 x 2048MB) PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2 RAM

I realise that i havent included alot of things such as inputs (keyboard, monitor etc.) but that isnt too important to me right now.
Also, i realise i havent included a motherboard, unfortunately im not sure which one would suit this machine, so any advice would be very very helpful :) .

So yes, do you think this machine will be capable of being a good gaming machine?

Thanks
Ryan.

PSU is a fail!!! that one will never power it! a good quality PSU is a must! and you will need minimum 500w 600w if you want to run it for more then a year, and much much more if you plan on putting another graphics card in. Corsair do good quality PSU's.

Case is a real bad choise. your system will constantly over heat! dont skimp on a good case!! cooling is essential!!

also a 3rd party CPU cooler and cooling compound makes a hell of a lot of diffrence!

But the way things are looking, there is soon to be a boost in components performance, i would hold out for a while.

after getting GTA 4 on PC, i have heard from people with a better setup then that, they are struggling to play it at any decent Frame rate.

you should definatly get a SLI board, and dont fall into the trap of getting a SLI board with with 2 PCI-E slots that are 16x but when both in use are 8X each.

I went for the MSI P7N diamond which has 4 PCI-E slots 3 of them are 16X so i can have quad SLI (like i could afford that! lol) and another one as a physx card!
